Citizen science is defined as research that involves the use of the public to generate new scientific knowledge. The purpose of this service-learning oriented course is to introduce students to biology-based
citizen science opportunities, local and regional, to engage students with environmental projects in their local communities. Students will learn through readings, class discussions, guest lecturers, field trips, and engagement in a designated project throughout the semester.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 1114 General Biology and BIOL 1134 Intro to Environmental Science and BIOL 1144 General Cellular Biology
